We kick off 2010 with the 97th edition of Social Blend, where we take a look back at the year that was 2009. Joining us for this special episode are FatLester and KatharineC; as well as technical glitches courtesy of Jay’s computer, which are very amusing.

Jumping into the content of the show, we reflect on the big stories of 2009, including the inauguration of Barack Obama, the notable deaths that plagued the year, and the events in Iran and Honduras and how awareness was shaped by the use of social media.

We also take a look back at how 2009 was for Mixx – with events that saw the resilience of the site get much stronger. We discuss the innovations of TweetMixx, and beg for Chris McGill to BRING BACK THE SIFTER!
