The 99th episode of Social Blend sees us joined by our very special guest Bonnie Burton aka bonniegrrl, who is Senior Editor and Online Content Developer for Lucasfilm! Many fans know Bonnie from her work on the Official Star Wars Blog, as well as from Twitter – and she is also an accomplished author, having released books such as Girls Against Girls: Why We Are Mean to Each Other and How We Can Change, and the upcoming publication Generation Star Wars: A Celebration of Fandom.
On top of that, she is a blogger, vlogger, has written numerous articles for Geek Monthly, and is the most supremely awesome Bettie Page fan of all time!
Bonnie joins us and gives us a glimpse into the world behind the scenes of Lucas Online; as the company has transition from the early 2000′s and moved into embracing and using a wide range of social media services, in an effort that not only helps promote Star Wars and Lucasfilm, but also has strengthened ties to Star Wars fans around the world. We also discuss The Clone Wars, the upcoming Star Wars Celebration V to be held in Florida in August, and much more.
Following our interview with Bonnie, Jay and Greg discuss some of the big news of Mixx during the week, including some updates to the West Memphis Three case, and a quick follow-up on the Haiti Earthquake. We close out the show with our stories of the week, and a quick look in the Mixx Lounge.
