Social Blend

Tom Cheredar aka Tched joins us as we bring the digital violence to the floor in Social Blend 109! We kick off the show taking a look at the recent Photoshop contest over at MixxingBowl.com, and also discuss recent contests happening at GeeksOfDoom.com as well. The big news from the week was the tragedy of the Polish president and many Polish political officials dying in a plane crash, and we have a chat about some of the wild conspiracy rumors that were popping up in the early hours of the news breaking.

Pete Cashmore then gets a collective punch-in-the-dick from us at Social Blend for allowing the publication of posts relating to Sex And The City; while in other internet news, we discuss Kevin Rose’s rise to CEO of Digg as Jay Adelson steps on down. These rumblings of internet changes lead us to discuss recent rulings in Net Neutrality in the United States, and how the world is carefully scrutinizing the push for Internet Filter Legislation in Australia.

Finally, we quickly look at Wikileaks recent video release of footage from Iraq in 2007; and Tom brings up the news of Conan O’Brien’s new gig with TBS.

On a side note, Tom and Greg will be hosting a new weekly mini-podcast: the TARDISblend – a short podcast taking a glance at the latest episodes of Doctor Who as they hit the screens in the United States.

Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from cGt2099.com) and Jay Fowler (SilentJay74 from JuicySnake.com) the Social Blend is a fun, and hard-hitting, podcast, with no respect for rules. We try to make the main focus of the show to be Mixx.com, and other social media sites; but we usually just end up talking about whatever comes to mind!
