On this edition of the TARDISblend, we review the 12th episode of Doctor Who Series Five – the first part of the season finale – entitled The Pandorica Opens. Everything has been building up to this point. With the cracks in the universe becoming more prevalent, Vincent Van Gogh sends a warning to the Doctor in the form of a painting, passed down through history until it ends up in the hands of River Song. There is limited time as she manages to get the Doctor and Amy Pond to meet her in 102 AD, with clues establishing a connection between the cracks, the Pandorica, the TARDIS exploding, and the end of the universe.
During TARDISblend 13, we examine the enigma of the Pandorica itself and how it fits into position with this episode. We also discuss the welcome return of Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams in this episode, with the devastating cliffhanger of what happens to Amy Pond.
