The season finale of Doctor Who Series Five, The Big Bang, concludes Matt Smith‘s first series as the good Doctor and wraps the first major story arc involving the Cracks in the Universe, the Pandorica, and the mysterious Silence. The TARDIS has (or is currently) destroying the universe because of its explosion – joining forces with Amy Pond, Rory Williams, and River Song, how can the Doctor save something that seemingly has already been destroyed? And at what cost? The Big Bang answers many of these questions, but also poses countless more as this season draws to a close.

During TARDISblend 14, we take a look at how Steven Moffat uses some ridiculous yet entertaining time loops within the story. The Big Bang (or rather "Big Bang II" as the Doctor calls it) has caused the reboot and recreation of a brand new universe, and we examine how this major plot device has and could have changed past adventures and future stories. We also take a look at some of the hints Moffat gave to this reboot during the course of the season. Later, we lay down some predictions for what may be coming in Series Six, and discuss some of our favorite moments and characters from Series Five.

And, even though this is end of the Doctor Who season, the TARDISblend WILL return. We plan to have a couple of episodes over the next few months, reviewing news and rumors, and also will be having a special episode for the 2010 Christmas Special. On top of that, we’ll also be continuing TARDISblend episodes not only for episodes of Doctor Who, but also for The Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood.
