This week on the 138th edition of Social Blend, we’re joined by Keith Wagner and Bridget Ayers. We kick off the show paying tribute to SilentJay74, the United States Marine Corps, and all branches of the military in our allied nations as we observe the USMC Birthday, Veteran’s Day, and Remembrance Day. Following this, we look at yet another Florida story, this time about a kindergarten teacher arrested for drug running – stay straight now, kids.
The big news of the week was the West Memphis Three being granted a new hearing, which is a step in the right direction. We discuss the highlights of this news, and talk about how you can support the WM3. George W Bush is out pimping his new book, but while that PR is going on, international lawyers are now highlighting he could be arrested abroad for sanctioning torture. This leads us to talk about all things related to the War on Terror, and the state of the USA, including the recent headlines of the Asian man arrested for disguising himself as an elderly chap on a flight in Canada, the TSA being up to shenanigans yet again, and Bridget being escorted to her plane!
Our band of the week is Ultra Sound, an outfit from Perth, Australia including SLAM Legend Stevie D, who are currently in a contest where they may win an opening support slot on the upcoming Bon Jovi tour of Australia. Vote for Ultra Sound in the contest here. In other news discussions, we take a look at Apple‘s daylight savings glitch on the iPhone, and Keith Olbermann wins our idiot-of-the-week award. We also talk about odd religion legislation in Oklahoma, look at the changing state of whether or not your employer can fire you for something you posted on Facebook, and the best headline of the week being "Sri Lanka launches manhunt for porn star"
Oh, and apparently Google Maps has caused a war between two countries.
All this and more on this week’s edition of Social Blend!
Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from cGt2099.com) and Jay Fowler (SilentJay74 from JuicySnake.com) the Social Blend is a fun, and hard-hitting, podcast, with no respect for rules.
