For the 145th episode of Social Blend, we’re joined by Brian Hill aka Bdog2g2 and Keith Wagner aka DarkNemesis618 as we discuss the news that Mixx has been acquired by UberMedia. We discuss the fate of Mixx Classic, which is being retired, and look to the future with the new social news feature that will be launched at the Mixxing Bowl.

As we progress through the transition, we’re reaching out to the Mixx Classic community for their understanding and support, as we work to get a new place set up for everyone to share and discuss submissions. We also want to hear from you with your suggestions and questions – we’re going to be posting something where you can ask your questions over the next week and we’ll discuss them on the next edition of Social Blend.

During our Mixxing Bowl discussion, we touch on the rules we’re hoping to deploy with the site, the logo possibilities, what’s going to happen with karma, and where we hope to go with awards.

We move on to the news of the last couple of weeks, including Keith Olbermann jumping ship from MSNBC, the Big 4 (Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth) screwing over their US fans, and the bombing at the Moscow airport. We look to the skies to see if Betelgeuse has exploded yet, check out FatLester’s Grand Theft Auto story which almost became a reality, and ponder the riots happening in Tunisia and Egypt as their governments take away their interwebs!
