Social BlendIt’s the 165th edition of Social Blend, and for this show we are joined by Keith Wagner aka DarkNemesis618 from Mixxing Bowl. Kicking off the show, we discuss the very recent news of an incredible hostage situation in Australia that seemed as if it was straight from a movie: where a bomb had been strapped around the neck of a young teenage girl.

Also, we discuss the news that arguably has become the most widely covered by the mainstream media this week: the vote on the debt ceiling. We take a look at some of the tidbits that some of the media is deliberately overlooking, and argue why this isn’t such a good deal for both Democrats and Republicans.

In the entertainment world, we discuss the interesting race changes for both Spider-Man (in the comic universe) and Perry White from Superman (in the movie universe), and our reactions to the directions being taken by the respective creative teams – Tom Cheredar aka Tched from Geeks of Doom and Venture Beat later joins us to give us his take on the new changes.

We also have a look at why Kevin Spacey maintains privacy – an interesting perspective to say the least; and briefly mention George Lucas‘ new movie. More set and filming photos are appearing online for the continual development of The Dark Knight Rises, prompting a lot of fans to begin speculation as to what may be happening in the film.

And finally, we make mention of the issues happening in Syria, and why you should be following them. All this and more on this week’s edition of Social Blend!

Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from cGt2099.com) and Jay Fowler (SilentJay74 from JuicySnake.com) the Social Blend is a fun, and hard-hitting, podcast, with no respect for rules.
